Grant in the Spotlight: Center for Responsible Lending
The Wyss Foundation is excited to announce a $1,300,000 grant to support the Center for Responsible Lending, a nonpartisan, nonprofit research and policy advocacy organization working to promote financial fairness and economic opportunity in the United States.
The Center for Responsible Lending focuses its work on protecting consumers from predatory lending practices and advancing consumer protections that create a fairer financial marketplace. Through this grant, the Center will address excessive overdraft fees charged by lenders and predatory triple-digit interest rate loans. The Center for Responsible Lending will also provide robust analysis and outreach materials to inform and empower consumers, local advocates, and national partners.
“The Wyss Foundation’s support is critical to continuing the Center’s work for fair and equitable financial opportunities so that families are able to build and protect wealth, establish financial stability, and create stronger, more resilient communities,” said Mike Calhoun, president of the Center for Responsible Lending.
“We’re proud to support the Center for Responsible Lending in its work to achieve economic justice for communities around the country. Americans deserve an economy that works fairly for all of us, not just a few,” said Molly McUsic, president of the Wyss Foundation.
