Suzanne Strazza
conservation field organizer, Dolores River Boating Advocates
Suzanne Strazza is an author, boatwoman, and lover of wild places. She has spent her career advocating for those without a voice. Suzanne wanders the Colorado Plateau, writing about her connection to place and the need to protect the landscapes of the West. Her passion for the river was born from countless days rowing through deep canyons in peace and wonder.
Suzanne lives in the desert southwest where water is at the forefront of everything and she feels a deep responsibility to honor and protect this landscape. The Dolores River captured Suzanne’s heart from her very first float through its majestic Ponderosa Gorge. Her love, passion, and commitment to protecting this immense canyon system has led her to Dolores River Boating Advocates as the conservation field organizer. She is honored to be a Wyss Fellow.
