Grant in the Spotlight: Constitutional Accountability Center
Wyss Foundation Announces Grant to Support the Constitutional Accountability Center
(Washington, DC) July 12, 2021: The Wyss Foundation is proud to announce a grant of $250,000 to support the Constitutional Accountability Center (CAC), a non-profit think tank, law firm, and action center dedicated to fulfilling the progressive promise of the U.S. Constitution’s text and history.
Through direct litigation and amicus briefs, CAC’s law center advances a progressive understanding of the Constitution’s text and history at all levels of the federal court system and in state supreme courts. CAC’s think tank produces scholarship showing that the Constitution’s text and history command progressive results. This scholarship is used to provide both the public and America’s elected leaders with comprehensive accounts of the most contentious and timely topics in modern constitutional and federal law.
“The Wyss Foundation’s generous gift contributes to our organization’s ability to work with courts, government and legal scholars to preserve the rights and freedoms of all Americans and to protect our judiciary from politics and special interests,” said Elizabeth Wydra, President of Constitutional Accountability Center.
“We applaud CAC’s work toward building a democracy that is inclusive, fair, and compassionate and are pleased to announce our support for this innovative organization,” said Molly McUsic, President of the Wyss Foundation.
